Xmas Presents

I've haven't been on my blog lately cause I've been trying to finish sewing and crocheting Xmas presents.
I have 3 quilts, 2 scarves, 3 pjs and two shirts to finish for Xmas.
Plus I am working on Xmas Eve so I can't do them on that day.
I'll try to post a little more this month but I don't think I will have the time.

Big, Big Turkey

This is our 45 lb Turkey we had for Thanksgiving. It weighs as much as my 7 year old. It barely fit in the oven and it took 9 hrs to cook. My hubby did an awesome job cooking this and all the fixings. He's such an awesome cook.

My cat, Ms. Kitty Died

She died yesterday. She was over 18 years old. I've never had a pet for so long and her being so old , I knew she wasn't going to be around much longer but it still sucks. She was a very independent cat and didn't care for too many people touching her. She would rough house with my husband and purr while playing rough with him. She was dumped 18 years ago near our house and had been with us ever since. So, I really don't know how old she is as she was already an adult when she came to us. She would kill mice and put them on my husband's truck step as a gift. She was a great mouser. She even held up her own against big dogs we had. We have another cat that she hated. She would hide behind the bedroom door and went for the other cat to walk in and then pounce on her . She didn't like other animals. It was funny watching this. Earlier this year she started to go blind but still went all over the house. Totally independent and still hissing at the dogs that came near her. I will miss her greatly but I'm sure she's having fun pouncing on some cats and mice up in heaven.

NCIS-Gibb's House and Boat

This past week showed Gibb's boat totally finished. You see him always working on them but never see them done. Too bad it had to be cut up. Watch the episode to see before reading anymore. Anyway, something I thought they wouldn't show, which I do like about NCIS leaving certain things to the imagination, was Gibb's living room and kitchen. I loved the living room wall crammed with books. I figured he was an avid reader knowing how he hates T.V. Also, this episode showed Mike Franks' daughter in law and granddaughter and a character from season 4 or 5. Damon, the super soldier who gave the team a few bumps and bruises on that episode.
There's a lot more too but its better if you go and watch the episode instead.

Dead Pool Costume w/Wolverine

Here's the finished Deadpool costume(yes, I forgot the gloves. I'll get them before Halloween).
I even made a double holster for his swords that criss cross on his back. Can't see the belt since its right on his black pants. A lot of work reshaping the hood. I finished this costume right before the school Halloween party. Glad I'm done sewing for Halloween.

Dead Pool Costume

Here's the progress on it from last week. The belt, shirt and hood. My son doesn't want me to make the pants -he just wants to wear his black jeans. I free drew the shirt's black parts just by looking at the toy figure. I did use the pj pattern for the top. I also used my catwoman pattern to make the hood. The belt ,I drew up a pattern and he wants me to add another type of belt thing to his wrists. That's a maybe.

Tribaret Bra

Project Level-Intermediate to Advance
Project List- Underwire Bra
Fabric for the outside and inside
Beads Strung already
Coin Necklaces
Hooks-Real good ones
Beads -glass Beading
Thread Beading Needle
Gold Trim
I've made a coin bra before. To see how to take apart and cover a bra go to people.tribe.net/erikaschi...8bd4791ec9
has lots and lots of links I worked on this bra for about 3 months. After taking apart and covering it, I added the layer of already strung beads to the front. I did an extra stringing of the beads just as a precaution. I then started hand stitching the gold trim on top of the strung beads. After looking at it- it was too empty so I hand beaded glass beads to the trim. I then added the cabachons and hand beded those. This is what took so long to do. I then hand stitched the necklaces on the bottom of the cups. I got those at Goodwill for a 1.00 each. I added the straps after the cups where done. I will have to redo them since I made them too small. I added big hooks on the back. This is very important so your costume stays in place. I can't wait to wear this to a show someday. It matches my Hakama pants too.
