Project level :Easy
Project List: 2 1/2 yards of cotton, light weight brocade, satin, etc.
1/4 wide of elastic (2 packages)

Well, no its not exactly a Pirate top. It can be anything you want it to be. Gothic top, Romani Gypsy Top, Ren Faire top, etc. This is Simplicity pattern # 4484. (This pattern also contains skirts , bustier and Turkish vest.) from their costume patterns.

I choose cotton from the quilting fabrics section in Joann's.(really pretty stuff) and basically followed the pattern directions. The pain in the ass part is shoving the elastic in the top, bottom and arms. I also added a decorative stitch in black on the sleeves instead of trim. I suggest anyone wanting to wear this alone that you cut the length longer otherwise the girls will peak out. I wore a bra under mine but you can't see the straps cause I am wearing a vest. Also, if you want to wear this without a bra you will have to look into having a strapless bra because there is no support otherwise.
pictures of me wearing it here and a different one here
