Turkish Vest

Project Level-Intermediate
 Project List
 Simplicity 4484
Fabric(cotton, brocade, etc)
14' zipper
Interfacing Linning
I used Simplicity Costume Pattern 4484.

It has other items you could use. The directions for the vest were pretty easy except for sewing it together which I couldn't quite understand the directions and just sewed it the way I wanted too. I used some lightweight brocade cutting on the design and black lining for the inside.

I used light weight interfacing for the back only.It zips up in the back so no trying to squeeze in or tying. It came out great.

I think these are wonderful for us girls who are bit shy to just wear our belly dance bra alone. Below I have a list of pattern places for the vest and vendors who make them. You can always look on ebay too. Wanting a little more coverage? Try a sleeves Ghawazee Coat from a dress by Misha

Hi,

I know it's been a while since you posted this, but hopefully you still check in. I'm currently sewing this vest, and like you said, the instructions for actually sewing it together are a bit vague. Can you tell me how you did it? I've got the front, side front, and side back together, but I'm not sure how they intend to the back to be sewn to the sides and how the arm holes are actually meant to line up. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Kindest regards.
