Organizing My Jewelry

 This is what it looked like after. I can actually see what I have.

Someone got all this.

I finally had a chance to do this. I had way too much and I just needed to get rid of the pieces I didn't wear or loved. I don't work in retail(Thank God) anymore so I don't need all this. It all went to a new home. Of course -I am going to go through my closet of clothes and shoes soon too.

Updating the UFOs List

Since I posted last week my UFOs and PHDs list for both home and biz projects, I have finished quite a bit.
I wanted to redo my list since over half of the biz list is done.(The home one -well, I got one thing done on that list). I will post newer photos later but for now , here it is.

Update:Sewed up hem and sewed up two tiers.Need one more tier to finish.

Plan :To have it done by the end of next week. I'm having fun doing this.
Update: The crochet part is done. Now I have to make the under skirt.

Plan: To have it done this weekend. I'm on a roll of finishing my UFOs  of my biz.
Update: Finished blue skirt waistband and sewed up the side of orange skirt. Need to get orange thread for skirt.

UFO's Sewing , etc.

After reading the Domestic Diva's Blog about UFOs(unfinished projects) and PHD's (projects half done) , I decided to post mine up since I finished redoing my sewing/laundry room.

These are home projects-meaning for myself and family and not to sell.

 1. Item:
This is part of my son's shirt that was ripped due to an accident(no, I'm not going to tell you about it) and I kept it to make him a sweatshirt out of it.
How long waiting?
Over a year
Plan
To have it done for Xmas this year.

 2. Item:
Shirts I planned to make for work-two of them.
How long waiting?
1 year
Plan
Try to get to them this year but since we are going to scrubs(GAG)it's not a pressing project.

 3. Item:
  3 quilts about full size. I had planned to have for Xmas last year.(Yeah, I got hurt and couldn't finish)
How long waiting?
Last year for Xmas.
Plan:
To have them done for Xmas this year.
Update: Have one almost sew up and bought the backing for it.

 4. Item:
 Costume for a solo. A top(you see here) and a 20 yd skirt(not shown).
How long waiting?
2 years. I started it and couldn't finish it for 2010 solo so I never got back into it.
Plan:
Don't have one at the moment =it's not a pressing project.

5. Item
Grocery Bags since my family stolen my other ones for who knows what.
How long waiting?
For about a year.
Plan:
I started sewing them up and plan to have them done within the next two weeks. I really need them.
Update: All seams are sewn just need to add handles.
DONE



6. Item:
Mata Hari Costume
How long waiting?
I started it in 06' and have it almost done except for waistband on the skirt and the beading on the top.
Plan:
Not a pressing project as you can see how long its already taken.

Organizing My Sewing and Laundry Room

 This is where I keep my Cd's, tapes and vinyls. My husband made a wooden frame for my Catwoman poster. I stenciled  and painted the frame ,on the right,  in gold. The hooks on the left hold my bags and belly dance belts.

 I have 2 sergers and 2 sewing machines and I made all the covers for them. I stenciled these walls and added rhinestones to them. The girls dancing can be removed-they are those non permanent stickers. The cross stitch picture was bought at a yard sale.

I love using glass containers for my buttons and beads.

Here's another glass container with buttons and glass cups with my scissors and pliers for making jewelry.Yes, that is a photo of Bono.

 Most of notions, supplies and anything else are either in glass containers, boxes or like my scissors in glass cups. I put my snaps in these recycled drink mix containers that work really well.I have a peg board to thumb tack my patterns, notions , etc.

 The left has my collection of jewelry that I will be sorting and getting rid of a few pieces. The buckets on the right have either yarn or fabric. The flowers hanging are my hair flowers for dancing.I painted the doors to my laundry room gold too. I used sari fabric for a drape over the entrance.

 I have a whole ceiling full of wind chimes and other cool things hanging around.

This is my laundry room and the two purple Rubbermaid's on the left hold my costumes. The fabric on top is my collection of Halloween fabric that I someday will make a quilt for myself.

The shoe holder has all my scraps that I use to make skirts.Each slot has a color folded all together. The rest of the containers in the back hold notions and other things I use.

I have only one draw full of patterns. I had at one time 3 but got rid of quite of few.

Is my plastic container for my ribbons, the little dresser box has all my sewing and serger feet. These pretty boxes contain beads and other things for making jewelry.
