Geisha Needle Book
This is the needle book I finished a few weeks ago. The inside is a little off but I was trying to finish this project before I lost interest. I used everything from my stash.
I had a lot of left over brocade strips that I used on this. The gold trim is stuff my mom gave me. The applications are ones I have had for a few years now waiting to be used. The buttons are also a gift from my mom. The Geisha girl fabric was left over from a skirt I had made.
I had felt from my doll projects and I just cut them to size with pinking shears. I used fabric scraps for the pockets and trim.
I had bought this clearance fabric quarter recently to add to my quilt blocks for Xmas and had some left over which I used here.
I used decorative stitching on the strips and used fleece instead of cotton batting for the lining.
This was my inspiration for making the needle book. This photo above is from Plays with Needles. She makes the most amazing and beautiful needle books. You need to go and check it out.
